Oh my word.. how do you serial Glastonburyers do it?!!!

I responded to a call for help the other day to be poised and ready on the refresh at 0900hrs this morning to join a team of twenty trying to secure tickets for Glastonbury.

Last night final preparation were made;

Laptop charged – check, Ipad charged – check, phone charged – check, Link checked – check

I was good to go.

D-Day

0830hrs – all devices powered on, brew made.

0845hrs – link loaded ready to hit refresh at 0900hrs

0857hrs – start breathing exercises to try and reduce pulse rate. I do not appear to be able to cope with this level of adrenaline

0858hrs – start to panic that if I blink at the wrong second and miss the flick over to 0900hrs i’ll miss the chance

0859hrs – aaaarrrggghhh dry eyes! I need to blink!!!

Crashing disappointment. I’d made it to the site, but was still in a queue

DF memory

Bus rehearsals

On the last night of the trip (well, the last one not spent on a plane), the DF team organised a huge party at the hotel. Clare, our deputy group leader decided we were going for a flash mob approach. come party night we would have S Club 7, Reach for the stars NAILED!!

However, as a dance teacher Clare is used to structured rehearsals, a dance studio, space…. if we were flashmobbing we couldnt be practicing around the hotel pool! There was only one thing for it. The only place where Blue Group were undisturbed (well, apart from that one time when red group’s bus broke down…. but they were sworn to secrecy!)… the Blue Group coach!!! Bus rehearsals were an every day occurance on the way to and from the parks.

….and who better to sing your lungs out to than S Club 7 to warm you up for a day full of fun. Lots of laughter, over acting and ‘eyes and teeth’ on those journeys…. and thats before we put the Disney songs on….

(P.S. This is also a highly effective treament option for children with Cystic Fibrosis…. gets everything moving fabulously!! (Dunbar, 2014) 😉 )
